ABOUT

OUR HOME IS YOUR HOME

Named after the farm that used to be on this property, Covenhoven is your friendly neighborhood bar for beer geeks and babies, gardeners and rockers, parents and humans on that awkward first Tinder date. It’s a Crown Heights clubhouse for everyone, wrapping arms around tourists who took a wrong turn after leaving the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Make yourself at home. Ask to try anything on tap. Raid the fridge. We’re friendly! Treat Covenhoven like it’s your home. The owners live upstairs. They wouldn’t have it any other way.

BILL PACE, CO-OWNER

The music teacher is a man of many talents: He’ll teach you all about that bass, waxing eloquently about both rhythm and booze. Some nights you might spot him sneaking downstairs for a beer, or maybe he’ll man the bar.

MOLLY BRADFORD, CO-OWNER

If you ever spot someone wearing slippers, surreptitiously dimming Covenhoven’s lights, that’d be Molly. Once upon a time she was a filmmaker. Now, her preferred medium is soil, carefully rolling out the backyard’s sod and tending to her verdant succulents, flowers and herbs. Get to chatting, and she might send you packing with a plant.

TOM BEINER, BEER MANAGEr

Lift that baseball cap off Tom’s lid and you’ll meet a teddy bear who wants nothing more than to share his latest beer scores. Just ask! There’s usually a bottle hidden beneath the bar. Tom’s main mission is to source the latest and greatest beers and ciders available in Brooklyn. If you don’t discover a new-to-you beer, Tom hasn’t done his job. Spoiler alert: He always does his job.
